Amanda Ansell is exhibiting at the 257th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2025, which has been coordinated this year by renowned architect Farshid Moussavi RA. This year’s exhibition explores the theme of ‘Dialogues’, focusing on art’s capacity to address pressing societal concerns, such as ecology, survival, and human coexistence. Amanda Ansell’s painting ‘Vortex’ is featured in Gallery VIII, which Vanessa Jackson RA has curated:
“When considering the overall theme, Jackson wanted to explore how colour relationships can form dialogues across all art forms, not only painting but sculpture, printmaking and architecture; lux and lumen being the ultimate dialogue of perception”.

For over 250 years, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition has been a vibrant showcase of artistic talent, running every year without fail since 1769, just a year after the RA was founded under the leadership of Sir Joshua Reynolds. Bringing together over 1,200 works of art in a variety of media, including, paintings, film, photography, sculpture and architectural masterpieces, this exhibition features work by artists from all around the world. Many of these artworks are available for purchase, with proceeds directly supporting both the exhibiting artists and the RA’s charitable initiatives, including the nurturing of future artistic generations at the Royal Academy Schools.
The RA Summer Exhibition opens to the public on the 17th June and continues until 17th August, 2025.
