Amanda Ansell attended the reception at University College Suffolk (UCS) to celebrate the launch of the East Contemporary Art Collection: A collection of 21st-Century practice. Initiated by artists Robert Priseman and Simon Carter and in partnership with the university in Ipswich, the ECA Collection will be a stimulating and valuable resource for students and researchers. ‘Evening Sail,’ a painting from the foam bubble island series will be part of the ECA Collection.
The exhibition ‘East Contemporary Art: A collection of 21st Century Practice’ will open to the public at the Waterfront Art Gallery in September 2013 and coincide with a major exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Norwich, titled, ‘Masterpieces: Art and East Anglia,’ which will also celebrate art in the eastern region from the prehistoric period to the present day. Exhibited in the newly refurbished galleries, this exhibition will showcase the rich and unique artistic heritage of Norfolk and Suffolk, with works ranging from paintings to jewellery and textile design.
