Paradoxes exhibition installation‘Paradoxes’ is an exhibition showcasing the breadth of contemporary painting practice which is very much alive and thriving in the UK today. The exhibition of 52 painters includes 48 artists from the Contemporary British Painting membership who are based throughout the British Isles, and four guest artists from the Isle of Wight. The CBP group returns to Quay Arts on the Isle of Wight following its successful summer exhibition in 2016.

The exhibition has been organised by Freya Purdue alongside co-curators Natalie Dowse and Phil Illingworth. Paradoxes: 52 Painters is accompanied by a full-colour 120-page catalogue with an essay by Paul Carey-Kent. Contemporary British Painting is an artist led organisation which explores and promotes current trends in British painting through group exhibitions, talks, publications, and by placing paintings in art museums. CBP membership is made up of internationally exhibiting and award-winning artists, producing regular exhibitions from amongst its membership and guest artists.
