Swindon Museum and Art Gallery starts the New Year with Present Tense; Contemporary British Painting and Photography. This exhibition is a celebration of painting and photography which examines how everyday life, place, memory and repetition influence British Art.

Amanda Ansell’s ‘Swan’ painting from the bubble island series is displayed alongside other works from the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery Collection. “The exhibition challenges the idea that contemporary art is elitist or incomprehensible. Starting with the fall of the Berlin Wall and looking at history and society, the exhibition investigates the way artists continue to react to the world around them and create new realities.
