Amanda Ansell is exhibiting in ‘Somewhere Unexpected’ at the Timothy Gurney Gallery, Norwich Castle, Norfolk. Somewhere Unexpected presents artists based in East Anglia who have responded to and acknowledge the significance of our immediate environments in the shifting context of a global pandemic. The exhibition addresses the way we all find ourselves in a new relationship with the landscape that surrounds us.
Somewhere Unexpected forms part of the bicentenary celebrations marking the death of John Crome, a founder of the Norwich School of Artists and one of Britain’s great landscape painters.
Exhibiting artists are: Amanda Ansell, Alex Atkinson, Emily Balsdon, Liz Ballard, Josephine Brett, Claire Cansick, Simon Carter, James Colman, Katarzyna Coleman, Daniel & Clara, Clive Dunn, Amanda Edgcombe, Mark Edwards, Christine Elliot Grey, Tor Falcon, Gus Farnes, Craig Frost, Chris Gamble, Kate Giles, James Gladwell, Frances Kearney, Wendy Kimberley, Sara Lamb, Alexandra Last, Martin Mitchell, Peter Norton, Simon Nunn, Kirsty O’Leery Leeson, Vanessa Pooley, Carl Rowe, Siemon Scamell Katz, Gordon Senior, Ivy Smith, Paul Smith, Gerard Stamp, Nessie Stonebridge, Rod Thompson and Vanessa Whinney. The selectors for the show are Amanda Geitner, Rosy Gray, Henry Jackson Newcomb and Danny Keen.
The exhibition is supported by the East Anglia Art Fund (EAAF) with the aim of supporting artists in the region and raising funds to enable future exhibitions.
